Married life has been: blissful, difficult, beautiful, hilarious, frustrating, eye-opening, lovely, selfless, selfish, and mainly, full of growth.
There are not words to describe what being married to James feels like; its new yet it has the comfort of our worn-in leather sofa, something that envelops you, and above all, feels right.

It would be extremely unrealistic and unfair to ignore our faults, where we've fallen short in our first year as husband and wife. We've both been bullheaded, prideful and sometimes harsh for the wrong reasons. Through grace, we've found lessons learned and growth has blossomed out of our shortcomings. The mercy we've given each other, and in turn received from God has made our marriage into what it is today--fruitful, free and faithful--words that we vowed upon in front of our family and friends last January.
This year, I have laughed harder, loved more, and learned an exorbitant amount about living with James. Some things have been humorous and others taught me more about swallowing my pride and selfish ways than I had imagined. We have gone on countless Saturday morning breakfast dates, explored our beloved Kansas City more, and in August we found out about our biggest blessing yet.

Our first reactions were shock and immeasurable joy. The fact that God chose us as this baby's parents still sweeps me off my (very pregnant) feet. In November, we found out we were expecting a boy--we both guessed boy, but the truth that little "squirt" was our son, that was beautiful and something I won't forget.

| A handsome profile, in my opinion! |
The holidays were soon come and gone, and with them was the end of my second trimester, and our first anniversary. Our first year married, filled with so much joy, so much growth, and so very much thankfulness. This next year brings with it hope for the growth of our family and lessons that we don't yet know we need to learn. I am in awe of the blessings in my life, ones that I share with my best friend, our son, and so many supportive and loving family and friends.
